Official Maze Tournament Rules

All standard Maze rules apply, except where contradicted below.

Scoring:

A round consists of 3 games. At the end of each game count the total number of treasures you picked up. In a 4-player game add your teammate’s treasure total to your own. Add this number to your cumulative score. The player with the highest cumulative score after 3 games wins the round.

Ties:

If there is a tie at the end of the third game then a “sudden death” occurs. The tied players play a new game with only one treasure. The first player to pick it up wins. There are no teams.

4 Player Maze Tournament Rules

Drafting:

Each player rolls a die. High roller (Player A) drafts first and picks any one of the 10 characters. The second highest roller (B) drafts second and chooses any one of the remaining 9 characters. The third highest roller (C) drafts next, followed by Player D. Then the draft order reverses and the players pick a second character (D first, then C, B and finally A). There will be two characters remaining that will not be used this game.

Team Selection:

Game 1: Players A and B vs. C and D

Game 2: Players A and C vs. B and D

Game 3: Players A and D vs. B and C

Character Selection:

Before each game the teammates get together secretly. Each player decides which one of their characters to play for the upcoming game. Reveal your choices to the other team simultaneously. You must play each of your characters at least once during the tournament.

3 Player Maze Tournament Rules

Drafting:

Each player rolls a die. High roller (Player A) drafts first and picks any one of the 10 characters. The second highest roller (B) drafts second and chooses any one of the remaining 9 characters. The third player (C) drafts next. Each player then drafts a second character in B, C, A order. For the third draft the player order is C, A, B.

There will be one character remaining that will not be used this game.

Character Selection:

Before each game secretly choose a character. Reveal your choice to the other players simultaneously. You cannot choose a character that you played in a previous round. (In other words, you must play each of your characters once.)

2 Player Maze Tournament Rules

Drafting:

Each player rolls a die. High roller (Player A) drafts first and picks any one of the 10 characters. Player B selects 2 characters, and then Player A selects a second character. Roll the die to determine who chooses first for the final draft. There will be four characters remaining that will not be used this game.

Character Selection:

Before each game secretly choose a character. Reveal your choice to the other player simultaneously. You cannot choose a character that you played in a previous round. (In other words, you must play each of your characters once.)

Multiple Tables

If there is more than one table then the winners from each table compete in an Ultra-Championship tournament. Follow the appropriate tournament rules above. If time is running short (and/or players are feeling burned out) then the Ultra-Champion is determined after one game, not three.
